A macerator grinds and pumps waste out through a small hose, which is excellent right up until it stops.
Ours died mid-dump while we were moochdocking, which is exactly as bad as it sounds. Later it had power and still would not spin. The fix turned out to be a drill and about thirty seconds, and we had nearly bought a replacement pump before finding that out.
The tank dumping video rounds it out, since the macerator and the tote tank work as a pair.
