CAT Scale

Looking for how to read a CAT scale ticket? Our guide to weighing your RV at a CAT scale walks through it line by line using our real numbers: the steer, drive and trailer axles, and how to get pin weight from a weigh and a reweigh.

Guessing at your weights is how people end up over their limits without ever finding out, so we went and got real numbers. These videos cover the full CAT scale process for a truck and fifth wheel, the two passes across the platforms, what the ticket actually means, and the attempt where everything went wrong before we got a usable reading. Our pin weight landed closer to the truck's limit than we expected, which is the part worth watching.
