The hikes here all happened between travel days, which is the part of this life we were actually chasing.

Arch Rock in the Smokies, reached after our most stressful drive so far. The Endless Wall Trail at New River Gorge, our first national park with 40 feet of trailer behind us. And the Sleeping Bear Dune Climb, which we attempted with one question: could we make it all the way down to Lake Michigan.

Our second national park ever started with our most stressful travel day yet: mountain turns, a first tunnel with the RV, rain, and a last-minute campground switch. Then the Smokies gave us waterfalls, a snake on the trail, and the climb to Arch Rock.
