How we ended up here
This was a travel day heading north out of South Carolina on our way to Louisville North Campground. We had a Walmart picked out that was closer to where we wanted to stop for the night. We called it, and nobody ever answered.
So we called the next one down the road, in Williamsburg. Someone picked up and said it was fine to stay. So that's where we went.
The night
Honestly, there isn't much to report, which is what you want from an overnight stop. We pulled in that evening and parked off to the side of the lot, away from the store entrance. It was pretty quiet all night, and we didn't have any problems at all. We were back on the road the next morning.
Getting in and out was easy. The lot is big and open, so there was room to swing the rig around without any drama.
That's been our experience at every Walmart we've stayed at so far. We've never had trouble with noise, and we've never had anyone shady come around.
Breakfast nearby
In the morning we tried a breakfast place nearby. It was so-so. Not bad, not something we'd drive back for.
The verdict
It did exactly what we needed: a quiet, free place to sleep between a long day of driving and a campground.
