We ended up here after a last-minute campground change on a rough travel day from New River Gorge. That story, and the Smoky Mountains hike that came after it, is in our Arch Rock post.
The site and hookups
Our site was a long pull-through with full hookups, so 50 amp, water and sewer.
Starlink worked great. Cell signal was kind of low, if we remember right, but our phones generally still worked.
The water
This was the downside. When we opened the spigot, the water came out brown. You can see it in the photo below.
The water quality wasn't great here, so a good filter matters. We run everything through our Blu Tech system, which is the one we recommend, and a filter like that will help with this kind of problem. Our Blu Tech filter install video shows how ours is set up.
Walking to the Pigeon Forge strip
A big plus of this park is where it is. It's a short walk to the main road through Pigeon Forge, so we walked around town quite a bit. Driving there can be a pain, so being able to leave the truck parked was nice.
From the park you can walk to stores, restaurants, the Old Mill, and other things nearby. We tried to eat at the Old Mill, but the wait was going to be too long. So we walked to a local barbecue place instead and had some delicious barbecue.
Mail and the Smokies
Receiving mail was easy here.
It also isn't much of a drive to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and that's the other big advantage of staying in Pigeon Forge.
