Eastbank Campground on Lake Seminole, Georgia: Watch the Curfew Gate

  • Published on

Quick facts

  • Where: Eastbank Campground, Lake Seminole, Bainbridge, Georgia. It sits right on the Georgia-Florida line, but it's in Georgia.
  • Cost: $28 a night. Our eight nights came to $224 on Recreation.gov (2025).
  • Type: Army Corps of Engineers campground.
  • Hookups: water and electric at our site. No sewer.
  • Dump station: yes, right by the exit.
  • Our site: a pull-through listed for 40 feet, with a view of the lake.
  • Curfew: the park gate is locked from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Eastern, with no way back in by car.
  • When we stayed: eight nights in May 2025. It was our first Recreation.gov campground.

This one sits right on Lake Seminole, and it was the prettiest spot we'd stayed in up to that point. Getting in was easy. Just know about the gate before you plan a late night out.

The curfew gate

This is the big one. The park gate is locked from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Eastern, and there's no code for after-hours entry by car. Exits are available in an emergency, but if you come back late you'll have to park your truck outside the gate and walk in to your campsite. Plan your evenings around it.

Our site

The pull-through was listed at 40 feet, and our 40-foot fifth wheel fit, with room for the slides. It wasn't level, about 4 degrees side to side, and our auto-level handled it. From the site we could see the lake and the dam, and the sunset over the water.

Starlink under the pines

There are a lot of pine trees. Nathan picked a site that looked like it had fewer of them, and a big pine still ended up in the way. Starlink mostly worked. If we did it again, we'd spend more time finding a site with clear sky to the north.

Showers, laundry, and the dump station

There's no sewer at the sites, so we used the campground showers to save tank space. They were really good. There's a laundry with one machine, and a dump station right by the exit for the way out.

The dam and the sunset

There's a really nice path you can walk over to the dam and around it. The sunset over the lake is great. Bring bug spray, though.

What's nearby

Florida Caverns State Park, just over the state line in Marianna, Florida, is about 45 minutes away. The guided cave tour was $16 a person when we went.

Would we stay again?

Yes. It's cheap, quiet, and beautiful. Just pick your site for the sky if you rely on Starlink, and be back before 10. The week, including a leak we found in our storage bay, is in our Lake Seminole video.
